SuburbsLevittown was one of the first suburban areas. The suburbs are located outside of the city with little neighborhoods that are called "cookie cutter neighborhoods". They get their name after similar looking houses and layouts. The "white flight" is really what made these areas possible to keep up and continue to mass produce. The idea of "white flight" was that all of the immigration into the cities was mostly involving non white minorities. The white people were not happy with all the other immigrants that were not of the white race living among them so they moved to the suburbs where the neighborhoods were 99% white. The suburbs gave families the chance to own more cars, have more kids, and have their own land like the rest of society did. This was their chance to fit in and live the "perfect lifestyle".

Modern conveniencesModern conveniences were new inventions that made living and dining a lot easier. These were objects that also made one family fit in more with the others because they had these new inventions. Some of the most popular machines were fridges, toaster ovens, vacuums, TV’s which really made home seem like home. Minimum wage was risen at the time which made all of these inventions affordable and a 'must have' in a house. The middle class was also risen to 60% of the people which also helped these companies sell more of their inventions. TV's were becoming more essential than the radio at this point because it was the new way of learning about news and any social event, as well as make your home fit in more among the other houses in the neighborhood.

Rock N' rollRock N' Roll was a completely new era for teenagers and adults. This was something for all ages to enjoy and connect with. Elvis was one of the most widely known singers across the nation and eventually the world. 4 people bands became a popular thing such as The Beetles. This was really the teenage era, the cool thing to do for the weekend would be go to a drive in with music playing and show off your car. Now that the suburbs allowed people to own more cars, this allowed for teenagers to really do more with their lives and go have fun and gain new experiences.
